Job Description:
As a Senior Design Engineer in our Design Engineering team, you will take a leading role in the creation, development, and optimization of innovative products and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring complex designs from concept through to production, ensuring functionality, quality, and efficiency. This position demands a high level of expertise in engineering design principles, creativity in problem-solving, and a solid understanding of industry standards. You’ll mentor junior engineers, lead design reviews, and be involved in project management, ensuring successful project execution from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of mechanical or electrical components and systems, ensuring all designs meet performance and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with product managers, manufacturing teams, and other engineers to translate product requirements into detailed design specifications.
- Utilize CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) to create, modify, and optimize 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Conduct design analysis and simulations to validate the feasibility, durability, and safety of designs.
- Lead design reviews, ensuring all team members understand design concepts, constraints, and manufacturing processes.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, tracking timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on the latest technologies, materials, and industry trends to incorporate into product designs.
- Oversee the prototyping and testing phase, ensuring that designs meet both internal and external specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design and production issues, working with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure smooth implementation.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry regulations, codes, and standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in design engineering, preferably in a senior or lead role.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, design processes, and materials science.
- Proven experience in leading design projects from concept through to production.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including machining, molding, and assembly techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and influence teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Educational Qualifications:
